💼 About This Role

You'll advance how Spotify understands, evaluates, and improves media experiences across platforms, working across the full media pipeline from backend processing to frontend playback. You'll solve product problems with research discipline and build scalable solutions for hundreds of millions of users. This role sits at the intersection of media quality, perception, and engineering.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Own research-to-production work across audio/video signal processing and perceptual quality.
• Partner with teams to integrate prototypes into production systems.
• Build evaluation frameworks and support media platform/codec decisions.
• Design perceptual studies and connect quality metrics to user experience.

📋 Requirements

• 8+ years in applied research and engineering in media technology, audio, or video.
• Deep expertise in audio and/or video with working knowledge across both domains.
• Strong foundations in signal processing and experience with perceptual quality.
• Proficient in Python and experience with C++ or similar languages.

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with perceptual evaluations or quality benchmarking.
• Knowledge of media systems end-to-end from backend to client playback.
