💼 About This Role

You'll own the quantitative safety case for Zipline's autonomous drone delivery systems, defining what "acceptably safe" means at scale. Your work will directly protect patients, partners, and communities while enabling real-world operations on four continents.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Own the quantitative safety case and decomposition of safety objectives.
• Drive top-down fault tree analysis for safety-related events and hazards.
• Monitor and ensure safety analysis validity as designs and operations evolve.
• Act as technical owner for external safety communication.

📋 Requirements

• BS/MS in Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years delivering safety-critical electromechanical systems into operation.
• Demonstrated ownership of system-level safety analysis and decision-making.
• Experience with hazard analysis techniques (fault trees, FMEA, risk modeling).

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience at the intersection of engineering design and live operations.
• Exposure to regulator-facing safety cases or certification efforts.
• Experience scaling cross-functional Safety Management Systems.
