Description

You will lead Contentful's strategy for Generative Engine Optimization, Answer Engine Optimization, and AI Optimization, ensuring the brand is discoverable and authoritative across AI-powered search and traditional SEO. You'll own the roadmap, performance measurement, and cross-functional execution, working with teams like content, product marketing, and demand generation to drive visibility, traffic, and revenue.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in search, with deep expertise in SEO and knowledge of GEO, AEO, and AI discovery
• Proven ability to lead strategic, multi-quarter programs with clear priorities and measurable outcomes
• Strong analytical skills with experience running experiments and turning data into actionable recommendations
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing agencies or contractors
• Executive-level communication skills to explain technical concepts to senior stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Design and execute multi-quarter roadmap for GEO, AEO, AI discovery, and traditional search initiatives
• Lead performance measurement, defining success metrics including AI visibility, citations, and downstream impact
• Design and run experiments to refine strategy and inform content, web, and product strategy
• Establish guidance for creating and structuring content to maximize visibility in AI-generated responses
• Own search and discovery tooling strategy, including evaluation and use of platforms like Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, etc.
