Description

You will lead data science efforts for Growth and Core Products at Gusto, applying experimentation, statistical inference, and causal analysis to drive strategic decisions. You'll partner closely with Product, Engineering, and other teams to define metrics, deliver insights, and scale data best practices across the organization.

Requirements

• 7-10 years Data Science experience at a product-focused software company
• Strong SQL skills and Python proficiency
• Proven ability with statistical methods, causal inference, AI tools, experimental design
• Excellent communication and cross-functional influence
• BS/MS/PhD in quantitative field (Stats, Econ, CS, Math) or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Lead ambiguous problems, design analysis frameworks that scale across product domains
• Collaborate with PMs, engineering, design to identify opportunities and guide data-informed decisions
• Apply advanced statistical methods, causal inference, and experimentation to surface drivers of product performance
• Design, analyze, and interpret experiments, highlighting trade-offs and limitations
• Mentor other data practitioners and up-level team best practices
