💼 About This Role

You'll shape the platform used to simulate and evaluate Large models powering the Waymo Driver, collaborating with engineers, data scientists, and ML practitioners. Your core impact is pushing boundaries through next-generation Simulation Evaluation products that reward and validate our most important production models. You'll own the product roadmap and forge deep partnerships across Research, Simulation, Data Science, and Systems Engineering.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Shape the platform for simulating and evaluating Large models for autonomous driving.
• Push boundaries of the Waymo Driver through next-generation Simulation Evaluation products.
• Understand and champion Model Developers by deeply embedding with engineers.
• Own the product by forging deep partnerships with Research, Simulation, Data Science, and Systems Engineering.

📋 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in analytical and AI-centric products.
• Comfortable discussing Foundation models, distributed systems, and data infrastructure.
• Proven track record of decomposing moonshot visions into concrete, phased roadmaps.
• Experience managing complex stakeholder environments from ML researchers to safety boards.

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience distilling large teacher models into students (Foundation Model Implementation).
• Ability to define complex success metrics like Evaluating the Evaluator (Distributional metrics, Precision/Recall, Bias/Variance).
• Familiarity with autonomous vehicle evaluation challenges including simulation realism and safety gating.
