Description

You will teach Health Science in a classroom setting using hands-on activities and standards-aligned instruction. You will design and implement curriculum, use data to inform your practice, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure student mastery. This role is part of a STEAM-focused school that offers unique opportunities for students to earn college credits and credentials.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
• Teaching experience in upper elementary, middle, or high school with an underserved population
• Adept interpersonal and communication skills to diverse audiences
• Valid NJ Teacher Certification completed or in progress

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and teach Health Science using hands-on activities, career experiences, and standards-aligned instruction
• Design and execute experiments to create workable solutions
• Design and implement curriculum and assessments that measure progress towards academic standards
• Use data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices
• Provide consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behavior
• Implement multiple techniques for increased student engagement and checking for understanding
• Be accountable for students’ mastery of academic standards
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
