Description
As a Launch Reliability Engineer at SpaceX, you will champion mission assurance at the launch site by fostering efficient and reliable operational processes. You'll collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure vehicle and payload processing is optimized, identify risks, and drive improvements to support safe and rapid launch cadence.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or physics
- 1+ years of experience in quality, manufacturing, or design engineering
- Knowledge of quality tools (Lean, Six Sigma, root cause analysis)
- Ability to pass Air Force background check
- Willingness to work extended hours, nights, and weekends as needed
Responsibilities
- Ensure reliable launch of astronauts and payloads through efficient vehicle and spacecraft processing
- Interact with development and build teams for Falcon 9, Dragon, Starship, and launch pad systems to optimize process health
- Identify high-risk processes and implement improvements for operational excellence
- Lead root cause and corrective action investigations
- Maintain feedback loop using data to prioritize resolution of high-impact issues
