Description

You will take ownership of the full design, build, and test lifecycle of Terran R's integrated structures and flight mechanisms, from conceptualization through manufacturing and testing. You'll design flight components using NX/TeamCenter, perform structural analysis with Nastran and ANSYS, and support hardware test campaigns. This role offers hands-on hardware ownership and the chance to directly impact a rocket that's being built from the ground up.

Requirements

• Significant mechanical or structural design experience
• Proven track record completing collaborative projects effectively
• Experience with NX/TeamCenter, Nastran, ANSYS, and hand calculations
• Self-motivated, adaptable, able to lead projects in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to work onsite in Long Beach, California

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize structural load paths and design complex structures and adjacent system packaging
• Review static/dynamic load inputs, material properties, and structural subsystem requirements
• Analyze and size flight structures to ensure timely design reviews and drawing release
• Develop and support hardware test campaigns, including integration, operation, and result evaluation
• Support manufacturing process development
