Description

As a Staff Software Engineer on ABBYY's Vantage platform, you will drive the design and delivery of major capabilities for our flagship Document AI product, including LLM integrations, compliance infrastructure, and platform extensibility. You'll act as a technical multiplier by influencing architecture, setting quality standards, and mentoring other engineers.

Requirements

• 10–13 years of professional software engineering experience with deep expertise in C# .NET and C++.
• Proven experience designing, implementing, and operating CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps Pipelines.
• Strong command of microservices architecture, distributed system design, and cloud-native patterns at enterprise scale.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor Senior and Mid-level Engineers and partner with Engineering Managers.
• Experience leading technical design reviews and influencing architectural decisions across team and product boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Drive the technical design and delivery of significant Vantage platform capabilities.
• Define and uphold engineering standards for code quality, reliability, performance, security, and compliance.
• Act as a senior technical voice in cross-functional planning with product management, ML engineering, and leadership.
• Lead initiatives to improve platform health at scale: service decomposition, observability, CI/CD maturity, and developer productivity.
• Own high-severity incident response and drive reliability improvements.
• Mentor Senior and Principal Engineers; build a culture of technical rigor and continuous learning.
• Evaluate and champion adoption of new technologies to strengthen Document AI differentiation.
