💼 About This Role

You'll lead the design and evolution of mission-critical commercialization tools and systems for Waymo's autonomous ride-hail service. Your work will directly impact demand planning and fleet optimization for Level 4 autonomous driving. This hybrid role in Warsaw offers the chance to solve hard real-world problems at the forefront of transportation.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Design and evolve backend systems for ride-hailing and fleet management
• Collaborate with Product, UX, and engineering teams on cross-cutting problems
• Solve optimization challenges like pickup/dropoff and demand planning
• Navigate uncertainty to deliver business-critical infrastructure

📋 Requirements

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• 6+ years experience with backend tech (e.g. C++, Spanner)
• 2+ years of people management experience
• Technical lead experience

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience working with nontechnical team members
• Familiarity with Google infrastructure (Flume, Borg, Protocol Buffers, OnePlatform)
• Experience with operations tooling, developer productivity, or developer tools
