💼 About This Role

You'll own the reliability, performance, and scalability of the software foundation powering AeroVect's autonomous ground vehicle fleet. You will manage Ubuntu-based OS images, middleware, and device drivers for a multi-sensor ROS 2 stack to enable rapid iteration. This role offers the chance to work on safety-critical autonomous systems in a fast-growing startup.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Design and maintain custom Ubuntu/Linux distributions for real-time workloads.
• Optimize ROS 2 DDS middleware for low-latency sensor data flows.
• Develop kernel modules and user-space drivers for LiDARs, cameras, radars.
• Implement observability and logging for system health monitoring.

📋 Requirements

• 3+ years experience with Linux-based embedded or robotics platforms.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python.
• Hands-on experience with ROS 1 or ROS 2 in production or research.
• Knowledge of DDS internals and QoS tuning.

✨ Nice to Have

• Prior work on autonomous vehicles or safety-critical robotic systems.
• Experience with Yocto or Linux kernel customization.
• Familiarity with GPU acceleration (CUDA, Vulkan).
