💼 About This Role

You'll serve as a key subject matter expert on accounting policy, financial reporting, and internal controls for the Wikimedia Foundation. You'll lead key components of the annual financial audit, Form 990 reporting, and internal controls over financial reporting. This fully remote role requires UTC-5 to UTC-8 timezone alignment.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Simplify complex financial accounting concepts into actionable strategies and clear guidance.
• Maintain and improve accounting policies and procedures to enhance financial reporting.
• Lead key components of annual financial audits and prepare audit support schedules.
• Support preparation of Form 990, gathering data and ensuring accuracy.

📋 Requirements

• Active CPA license required (or equivalent with strong US GAAP experience).
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance plus 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience supporting audited financial statements and/or Form 990 preparation.
• Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) internal controls.
