Description

You will design and build scalable backend systems for Roblox's Avatar Marketplace, enabling millions of users to acquire virtual items and helping creators succeed as sellers. Your work will shape the Roblox economy and ensure reliability for critical marketplace systems.

Requirements

• 6+ years professional experience in software development with focus on distributed systems
• Deep understanding of CAP theorem, consistency models, concurrency control, fault tolerance, consensus algorithms
• Proficiency in C#, Go, Rust, Java, C++, or Python
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm
• Experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) and distributed databases (Cassandra, MongoDB)

Responsibilities

• Design and architect scalable, reliable, fault-tolerant distributed systems
• Develop backend systems for seamless marketplace operations
• Optimize system performance, minimize latency, maximize throughput
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers and research scientists
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in code reviews
