Description

You will develop autonomous software that controls and monitors BlackSky's satellite constellation, including high-speed tasking, telemetry, and low-latency communication with ground stations. You'll work on mission-critical systems that operate 24/7 with minimal human intervention, bridging hardware-level interfaces and cloud-deployed microservices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in CS, engineering, or related technical field or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of professional software development experience
• Proficiency in Go, Python, or C++
• Experience with microservices in cloud (AWS, GCS, Azure) and on-prem Kubernetes
• Ability to travel 10-15% to customer site

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain software for autonomous satellite operations and real-time tasking
• Develop and integrate services interfacing with ground station infrastructure and satellite communication protocols
• Build software solutions to support satellite tasking and monitoring
• Collaborate with operations, communications, flight software, and mission planning engineers to refine requirements
• Write clean, testable code and participate in design and code reviews
