You'll lead and grow a team of passionate engineers building Starburst's data platform products. Your core impact is driving technical direction and delivering on roadmap deliverables while mentoring engineers from junior to tech lead levels. This role stands out with its focus on the Trino Open Source Project and hands-on involvement in the Data Engineering space.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Lead and grow a team of passionate software engineers.
• Provide guidance for self-organization and sustained high velocity.
• Drive technical direction and agile leadership.
• Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard new engineers.
• Coach and mentor engineers of all levels.

📋 Requirements

• At least 5 years of engineering management experience.
• 8+ years total engineering experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Hands-on experience in Data Engineering space (ODBC, Python, Spark).

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience managing partially or fully remote teams.
• Good understanding of SQL databases.
• Experience working on or managing Open Source Software.
