Description

You will own the thermal model for an interplanetary spacecraft, defining architecture from first principles and guiding design, qualification, and operations. This role spans early trade studies through test correlation and mission operations, requiring strong analytical skills and systems-level thinking.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or related field
• 15+ years of experience in spacecraft thermal engineering
• Expertise in thermal analysis tools (e.g., Thermal Desktop, ANSYS, or similar)
• Experience with thermal vacuum testing and test correlation
• Strong analytical and systems-level thinking skills

Responsibilities

• Develop and mature spacecraft thermal models at vehicle, subsystem, and component levels
• Define thermal architectures and requirements, iterating hardware designs with cross-disciplinary teams
• Generate flight temperature predictions, margins, and off-nominal analyses
