💼 About This Role

You'll play a key role in the aerodynamic design of Skydio's autonomous aircraft. You will perform CFD analysis and wind tunnel testing to refine flight performance, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality designs. This role offers ownership of aerodynamic systems from concept to production.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Perform aerodynamic analysis and simulation for aircraft design
• Build and analyze aerodynamic models to determine flight envelopes
• Design and run experiments, review flight test logs and data
• Execute CFD analyses to assess aerodynamic and mechanical design characteristics

📋 Requirements

• 5+ years of product development experience in aerodynamic or related field
• Experience with reduced order aircraft performance modeling (e.g. AVL, VSPAERO)
• Experience with CFD solvers (e.g. ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+, OpenFOAM)
• Proficiency with aerodynamic modeling tools (panel methods, vortex lattice)

• Hands-on experience with wind tunnel testing
• Skilled in data visualization using Python, Tecplot, or ParaView
