Description

You will build the digital backbone of our modular Battery Energy Storage Systems, designing and implementing the mission-critical logic that coordinates GWh-scale sites with the utility and the Redwood Cloud. You'll architect a scalable, resilient platform enabling automated control of thousands of distributed microcontrollers.

Requirements

• Experience designing scalable, resilient distributed systems
• Expertise in real-time control systems and networking protocols
• Strong background in fault-tolerant architecture and state machine design
• Ability to collaborate with simulation and controls teams on optimization
• Experience with energy storage or industrial control systems preferred

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a scalable, resilient distributed system architecture for the Site Controller
• Lead development of multi-rate control systems balancing site coordination with real-time grid execution
• Architect robust fault-management frameworks with autonomous error recovery and failsafe modes
• Define deterministic networking layers ensuring low-latency, reliable data flow
• Integrate hardware abstraction layers for modular battery energy storage systems
