💼 About This Role

You'll lead capital markets legal support at Upstart, negotiating structured finance transactions and collaborating with internal teams. Your work will directly impact the company's funding capacity and deal structures. This role offers the chance to work on innovative securitizations and influence a rapidly growing fintech.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Support capital markets and finance teams in purchase and sale agreements
• Review, draft and negotiate transactional documents with institutional investors
• Manage deal flow and work with outside counsel on securitization transactions
• Develop processes and improve templates to support rapid business growth

📋 Requirements

• J.D. degree with solid academic credentials and state bar membership
• 12 years work experience including large law firm and in-house in structured finance
• Experience drafting and negotiating sophisticated transactional documents
• Strong communication skills providing quick, concise, practical legal advice

✨ Nice to Have

• Prior experience at a fintech company focused on lending/credit markets
• CA or NY bar membership
• Proven ability to develop scalable processes and procedures
