Description

You will lead a team building foundational observability platforms (metrics, logging, tracing, alerting) that help engineers across Robinhood understand and improve system health. This role combines technical leadership and people management to deliver scalable, reliable observability solutions.

Requirements

• Experience managing engineering teams including hiring, mentoring, and performance management
• Background in infrastructure, reliability, or observability systems (metrics, logging, distributed tracing)
• Experience with Kubernetes, distributed systems, and cloud-based platforms
• Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, or similar monitoring and observability tools
• Ability to understand complex systems and guide technical decisions for performance and reliability

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team building observability systems including metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting infrastructure
• Guide design and improvement of data ingestion pipelines and storage for high-volume telemetry data
• Partner with product and infrastructure teams to integrate observability into new and existing services
• Improve system reliability by reducing time to detect and resolve production issues
• Manage team priorities, support career development, and ensure consistent delivery of high-quality work
