💼 About This Role

You'll own backend systems and APIs for Waymo's autonomous vehicle rider experience. You'll design scalable services and data pipelines for real-time in-car features. This role bridges autonomous vehicle tech and user-facing applications.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Design and build scalable backend services and APIs (gRPC/Protobuf).
• Architect high-availability systems for state synchronization.
• Collaborate with client engineers, PMs, and vehicle software teams.
• Optimize data pipelines for low-latency delivery.

📋 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• Proficiency in C++, Java, or Go.
• Experience with distributed systems and microservices.

✨ Nice to Have

• Google infrastructure experience (Spanner, gRPC, Borg/Kubernetes).
• IoT or automotive telematics background.
• Real-time data streaming and event-driven architecture experience.
