Description

You will build tools, APIs, and integrations for Remote's global HR and payroll platform, working on complex challenges that enable businesses to operate internationally. You'll collaborate across cross-functional teams to deliver secure and scalable backend solutions using Elixir, Phoenix, and Postgres.

Requirements

• Strong engineering fundamentals with track record of shipping production systems
• Experience designing or adopting agentic/automation workflows
• Ability to think in systems: define specs, break down plans, verify quality
• Proficiency with Postgres and CI/CD (GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, or similar)
• Experience with Elixir, Phoenix, or functional programming languages is a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead major team-scoped projects and contribute to cross-team initiatives
• Participate in product work, providing feedback and suggesting solutions
• Debug and solve technical and business issues
• Mentor and guide other engineers
• Propose and operationalize agentic workflows to improve delivery speed
