💼 About This Role

You'll design and evolve the public API that powers how developers integrate Photoroom's AI photo editing. You'll own the API surface end-to-end, shipping features that serve both self-serve developers and large enterprise customers. This role is at the intersection of backend engineering and AI, where you'll abstract complex image models into simple developer-facing interfaces in a high-growth startup.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Design, build, and evolve the public API product
• Ship features used by both self-serve and enterprise customers
• Own the API surface from design to implementation and maintainability
• Iterate quickly based on real usage and feedback

📋 Requirements

• Strong experience building backend systems in Python
• Proficiency with FastAPI or similar async frameworks
• Experience designing public-facing APIs with versioning and consistency
• Background in high-performing teams or startup environments

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with Docker and uvicorn/gunicorn
• Familiarity with image processing libraries (e.g., Pillow, pyvips)
• Exposure to Node.js or API migration projects
