💼 About This Role

You'll lead systems engineering for Sensing, Perception, Maps, and Localization domains at Waabi, a leader in autonomous vehicles. You'll own requirements, validation, and cross-functional integration across AI, hardware, and safety teams. This role offers impact on Level 4 AV systems from R&D to deployment.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Lead systems engineering lifecycle for Sensing, Perception, Maps, Localization.
• Create and refine AV requirements using analytical and numerical methods.
• Own definition and requirements of Sensing, Perception, Localization contracts.
• Act as technical liaison across AI, hardware, and safety teams.

📋 Requirements

• 3+ years industry experience in AVs, robotics, or aerospace.
• Strong foundation in sensing (Lidar, Radar, Camera) and perception algorithms.
• Expert knowledge of Systems Engineering and V&V best practices.
• Working knowledge of functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262).

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with generative AI or ML-based perception in safety cases.
• Familiarity with SOTIF (ISO 21448) and unknown-unsafe scenarios.
• Experience with sensor calibration for commercial trucking.
