Description

You'll lead the development and continuous improvement of welding processes for the Archimedes Engine, author specifications, define acceptance criteria, resolve production issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality manufacturing of a reusable launch vehicle.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical discipline
• 5+ years welding engineering experience with TIG, Laser, MIG, or EBEAM for aerospace
• Hands-on fabrication, manufacturing, or testing of welded assemblies
• Experience with X-ray quality structural welding and seal welding
• Knowledge of metallurgy for carbon/stainless steels and nickel alloys

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement welding process improvements for Archimedes Engine production
• Author welding procedures and PQRs per AWS D17.1 and NASA standards
• Conduct root cause analyses on weld nonconformances and provide repair guidance
• Support production operations with direction to manufacturing engineers and welders
• Work with design teams to improve welded designs for manufacturability
