💼 About This Role

You'll own end-to-end quality for advanced interconnect hardware in OpenAI's supercompute platforms. Your impact spans early design through fleet quality in lab and data center environments. This role offers the chance to shape AI infrastructure reliability at scale.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Drive quality-by-design in interconnect design reviews and DFM/DFx.
• Define and track quality and reliability metrics (DPPM, yield, escapes).
• Build and execute qualification strategies for cables/connectors/patch panels.
• Lead rapid containment and root-cause investigations for failures.

📋 Requirements

• 7+ years in quality engineering for interconnects or high-speed hardware.
• Hands-on experience with high-speed copper interconnect products (connectors/cable assemblies).
• Strong command of problem-solving tools (8D, 5-Whys, PFMEA, SPC).
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and GD&T basics.

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with optical interconnects (AOC/DAC, QSFP/OSFP).
• Knowledge of cable manufacturing processes (welding, crimping, overmolding).
• Familiarity with patch panels or backplane interconnect solutions.
