💼 About This Role

You'll serve as an HAI epidemiologist for the SHARPPS Program, coordinating with North Carolina hospitals to ensure accurate data in the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN). You'll reconcile monthly hospital reports, produce quarterly and annual public reports on healthcare-associated infections, and generate ad hoc reports from multidrug resistant organism surveillance.

🎯 What You'll Do

  • Collect and analyze surveillance data from NHSN and NCEDSS.
  • Conduct routine remote and on-site data quality evaluations.
  • Design data analyses based on scientific questions and existing data.
  • Generate routine data reports for internal and external partners.

📋 Requirements

  • Master's degree in Epidemiology or closely related field and two years experience.
  • Knowledge of surveillance methods for healthcare-associated infections and antimicrobial-resistant pathogens.
  • Proficiency in statistical software and programming languages.
  • Knowledge of database design and data management.

✨ Nice to Have

  • Experience with National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN).
  • Experience with North Carolina Electronic Disease Surveillance System (NCEDSS).
  • Experience in public health response to emerging infections.
