💼 About This Role

You'll design, build, and scale components of the Acceldata Open Data Platform (ODP), contributing to open-source technologies and solving real-world challenges in large-scale data infrastructure. You'll work alongside seasoned engineers to create a data platform from scratch, with your efforts directly impacting enterprise customers.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Collaborate with the engineering team to write, test, and deploy software using Java or Scala.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle from analysis to maintenance.
• Contribute to open-source Apache projects like Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge.

📋 Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science or related field at University of Waterloo.
• Strong programming skills in Java or Scala, and Python.
• Experience with Maven, Gradle, or SBT build models.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes including Pods, Services, Deployments.

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with distributed computing, big data technologies, or cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with GitHub and Nexus management.
• Knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
