Description
You will lead the development of major structural airframe assemblies from preliminary design through certification and manufacturing ramp-up. Apply your expertise in load paths, design best practices, and hand calculations to define robust structural configurations and demonstrate structural integrity through analysis and testing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field
- 10+ years of experience in structural analysis of composite and metallic aerospace components
- Experience with FEA, hand calculations, and certification of aerospace components
- Ability to evaluate complex loading scenarios, construct free body diagrams, and apply mechanics of composite materials
- Master's degree with 8+ years of experience considered alternatively
Responsibilities
- Lead development of major structural airframe assemblies from preliminary design through certification and manufacturing ramp-up
- Apply load paths, design best practices, and hand calcs to design robust structural configurations
- Provide technical guidance on design concepts (risk vs. cost vs. performance)
- Demonstrate structural integrity (static strength, stiffness, stability, fatigue, durability, damage tolerance) via hand calculations and FEA supported by test
- Prepare stress analysis documentation and support design reviews, component tests, and MRB
