Description
You will lead research and development of novel motion planning algorithms for autonomous vehicles, guiding cross-functional projects and mentoring team members to ensure safe, efficient, and comfortable fleet operation in complex environments.
Requirements
- PhD in Robotics, CS, CE, ME, or related field; or Master's with 7+ years AV industry experience
- 10+ years research experience in robotics/motion planning with track record of state-of-the-art solutions
- 5+ years C++ development focused on high-performance reliable systems
- Experience owning technical development from problem formulation to deployment in production
- Knowledge of probabilistic models and machine learning for decision-making under uncertainty
Responsibilities
- Lead research and development of novel motion planning algorithms, including search-based and probabilistic methods
- Architect and integrate complex motion planning and prediction algorithms for real-world deployment
- Design robust, scalable, high-performance codebase for rapid prototyping and evaluation
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with perception, prediction, and control teams
- Mentor team members and foster a culture of technical excellence
