💼 About This Role

You'll conduct long-horizon research and prototype LLM-based solutions for cybersecurity at Rubrik. You'll bridge academic SOTA methods into production code and build high-impact proofs of concept for the Data Research team. This part-time role is designed for a PhD candidate to drive deep, complex research.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Lead deep-dive research initiatives on anomaly detection or LLM reasoning
• Design and prototype advanced LLM workflows (RAG, Agents, Fine-tuning)
• Act as knowledge hub for SOTA academic concepts and techniques
• Build functional Proofs of Concept for engineering team operationalization

📋 Requirements

• Current enrollment in a PhD program in Math, CS, Stats, or related field
• Previous industry experience with real-world data (internships or full-time)
• Deep practical Python and ML framework proficiency (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face)
• Demonstrated LLM expertise beyond simple prompting (embeddings, vector databases, quantization)

✨ Nice to Have

• Publications in top-tier conferences (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ACL)
• Background or strong interest in Cyber Security
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP) and distributed tools (Spark/Databricks)
