💼 About This Role

You'll operate, optimize, and secure managed and self-managed databases powering high-traffic ecommerce sites on AWS and GCP. Your mission is to ensure high availability, performance, and cost efficiency during peak events. You'll also collaborate with development and architecture teams to drive reliability improvements.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Operate managed databases (AWS RDS/Aurora MySQL/PostgreSQL, DB2) with indexing and tuning.
• Build and support self-managed DB2, MySQL, PostgreSQL on Linux/Unix/Windows.
• Implement high availability and disaster recovery across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Automate operations with Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD for database changes.

📋 Requirements

• Hands-on experience with managed relational databases in AWS or GCP (RDS/Aurora) using MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Experience administering self-managed enterprise RDBMS in Linux/Unix environments (IBM DB2 LUW).
• Strong performance tuning skills: execution plans, indexing, slow query analysis.
• Proficiency in automation with Terraform/CloudFormation, Ansible, CI/CD, and scripting (Python/Bash).

✨ Nice to Have

• Deep knowledge of Oracle RAC/Data Guard or DB2 HADR.
• Experience with MongoDB Atlas and on-prem MongoDB (Ops Manager, replica sets, sharding).
• Familiarity with advanced PostgreSQL/MySQL internals.
