Description

Lead the Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) pipeline for Rocket Lab's Electron rocket. You will own mission design, develop flight-critical software, manage a high-performing team, and oversee verification through Hardware-in-the-Loop testing. Collaborate across engineering to ensure reliable launch missions.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Aerospace, Electrical, or Software Engineering
• 5+ years experience in aerospace/space systems and GNC algorithms for launch vehicles
• Deep knowledge of orbital mechanics, rigid body dynamics, and control systems
• Strong skills in Python, MATLAB/SciPy, and simulation/flight software
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and deliver complex projects

Responsibilities

• Own GNC pipeline from algorithm design to post-flight analysis
• Lead development of flight-critical software and mission trajectories
• Manage and mentor GNC team
• Oversee flight software verification via HITL testing
• Collaborate across engineering to ensure mission success
