Description
You will design, install, maintain, and own video and voice intercom systems for SpaceX's launch broadcast facilities, working closely with the Emmy award-winning webcast team and engineering teams to support launch and event broadcasts. Your role includes being broadcast engineer-in-charge for launch webcasts and collaborating across programs to create scalable solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's in IT, CS, EE, or STEM + 2 years video/voice/networking experience, or 5+ years without degree
- Experience with video routers, IP video, cameras, broadcast switchers
- Experience with audio equipment: intercom matrices, broadcast consoles, wireless radios
- Knowledge of SMPTE ST 2110, AES67, Dante, SRT, RTMP, MPEG-TS, RTSP, SIP, WebRTC
- Programming in Python, Bash, Go, JavaScript or similar
Responsibilities
- Broadcast engineer-in-charge for launch webcasts; operate as technical director, A1, A2, or production manager
- Design and deploy broadcast facilities and large-scale video/audio networks
- Troubleshoot video/voice network issues
- Collaborate with stakeholders to create operable, scalable, maintainable solutions
- Monitor video/voice equipment and network health; update documentation and inventory
