Description

You will own the container-based application lifecycle and CI/CD pipelines for Planet's Global Monitoring Service, managing deployments on customer-isolated Kubernetes clusters to deliver near-real time monitoring insights from satellite data. You'll ensure high availability and performance by meeting SLAs and participating in on-call rotations, while collaborating across time zones to evolve systems responsibly.

Requirements

• 10+ years software engineering with focus on infrastructure/DevOps and containers
• Bachelor's in Computer Science or similar
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and stateful applications
• Track record owning CI/CD pipelines and managing infrastructure via Makefiles and manifests
• Experience with secrets management, on-call rotations, and postmortems

Responsibilities

• Own container-based application lifecycle, bi-weekly releases, and CI/CD pipelines
• Manage deployments on customer-isolated Kubernetes clusters with stateful apps and persistent storage
• Ensure high availability and performance by meeting contractual SLAs and participating in 24x7 on-call rotation
• Rapidly debug and resolve complex issues surfaced by customers or internal monitoring
• Own auth for GMS resources and manage terraform deployments for data pipelines
