You will own the design of hardware and software implementation for Canonical's internal IT infrastructure, shaping the systems behind tens of millions of Ubuntu devices. Your choices will impact Ubuntu user experience and drive how engineers engage with compute and network resources.

Requirements

• Exceptional academic track record from high school and university
• Undergraduate degree in a technical subject or equivalent narrative
• Extensive knowledge of cloud computing concepts and operations
• Practical knowledge of Linux networking, routing, firewalls, and large-scale bandwidth networking
• Experience with production outages, incident response, and postmortems

Responsibilities

• Define and implement the holistic vision of a world-class internal cloud
• Setup and update technical design roadmap and guidelines for SREs to improve reliability and scalability
• Collaborate with cloud-ops development teams on roadmap and prioritization
• Lead technical choices to implement solutions as self-service products
• Automate operations for reuse across large companies considering distributed systems complexities
