Description

You will design and support outside plant telecommunications infrastructure, including copper and fiber networks for FTTH, DSL, Metro-E, SONET, and other telecom services. This role involves field measurements, permit coordination, and ensuring designs meet company standards and project budgets.

Requirements

• Experience designing OSP telecom infrastructure (fiber and copper)
• Strong understanding of OSP principles and telecom industry practices
• Knowledge of right-of-way, easements, and permitting processes
• Ability to identify existing voice/data plant and utilities in site plans and field
• Experience with FTTH, DSL, Metro-E, SONET, and fiber transport technologies

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed OSP engineering for copper and fiber cable networks (aerial, buried, conduit)
• Develop designs for poles, conduit routes, and buried facilities per standards
• Prepare and interpret engineering plans, loop loss designs, and technical reports
• Track project budgets and ensure financial performance
• Prepare permit packages for local jurisdiction submittals
