💼 About This Role

You'll lead structural design and alignment strategy for Mainspring's linear generator, an innovative power generation technology. You'll own CAD and FEA to ensure precise alignment and durability under dynamic loads. This role combines hands-on testing and cross-functional collaboration to bring a novel product to scale.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Lead structural design and alignment strategy for critical components
• Design and validate bolted joints under cyclic and thermal loading
• Develop GD&T and tolerance stack strategies across subsystem interfaces
• Own 3D CAD (SolidWorks) and structural FEA (ANSYS or equivalent)

📋 Requirements

• BS + 10 years or MS + 9 years of mechanical engineering experience
• Delivered products as technical lead through 3+ full design lifecycles
• Expertise in bolted joints and thermal impact on structures
• Fluent in SolidWorks or comparable CAD package

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with PDM or similar CAD version control
• Hands-on prototyping, assembly, and testing skills
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes (sheet metal, welding, casting)
