Description

Start as a Behavior Technician Trainee and become a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) through a paid training program. You'll work with individuals with Autism and other Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities in school-based settings, implementing behavior therapy techniques to support students and foster independence.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age
• An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree OR 48 college credits including Math 100 and English 100 OR a High School Diploma/GED with Passage of the ParaPro Praxis assessment
• Complete RBT Academy and pass the RBT Exam to become an RBT

Responsibilities

• Work directly with students in the classroom, following the established service plan
• Establish and maintain relationships with clients and school teams
• Implement behavior therapy techniques and collaborate with teachers
• Document interventions and progress towards goals
• Collect behavior data as specified in client behavior plan
• Provide training, instruction, and assistance to help the student acquire and maintain skills
• Provide support to the client in interpersonal skills, development, and maintenance of personal relationships
