💼 About This Role

You'll build the retrieval stack for Databricks agents, owning query understanding, content understanding, ranking, and evaluation. Your work will power zero-to-one context retrieval across enterprise SaaS providers, making every agent measurably smarter. This role combines deep IR expertise with agentic systems design to close the loop between intent and retrieval.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Build the full retrieval stack from scratch.
• Optimize retrieval for both LLMs and humans.
• Design search subagents that reason about retrieval.
• Set technical direction and grow the team.

📋 Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• Deep Information Retrieval expertise (BM25, embeddings, hybrid).
• Hands-on LLM-era retrieval experience (RAG, re-ranking).
• Experience designing agentic systems on top of retrieval.
