Description

As a Lead Systems Software Architect at Roku, you will own the software platform for Roku TVs and streaming devices, driving complex multimedia system designs from concept to production. You'll collaborate with ODM partners, chipset vendors, and internal teams to deliver performant, secure, and scalable solutions that delight millions of users.

Requirements

• Deep understanding of multimedia system design (video/audio pipelines, SoCs, memory, power, thermals)
• Experience implementing and debugging low-level software (drivers, boot chain, board support)
• Proven ability to drive products from concept to mass production
• Strong collaboration skills with ODM partners and chipset vendors
• Data-driven decision-making and comfort with ambiguity

Responsibilities

• Own complex features or subsystems end-to-end, from design through production support
• Design and maintain core platform software with focus on code quality and maintainability
• Optimize video/audio pipelines, codecs, and rendering paths for high-quality playback
• Lead SoC evaluation and enablement, partnering with vendors on performance and power
• Implement drivers, HALs, and low-level services, and drive early bring-up of new boards
