🛠 Tech Stack
💼 About This Role
You'll support the development of intelligent navigation and motion-planning algorithms for Pivotal's Helix eVTOL aircraft. You'll collaborate with autonomy and GNC engineers to design, implement, and evaluate planning algorithms that operate effectively in dynamic, real-world environments. This internship is well-suited for students or early-career engineers interested in deploying planning systems on real platforms.
🎯 What You'll Do
- Design and implement path planning and trajectory generation algorithms.
- Develop and evaluate motion planning solutions in simulation and real-world.
- Integrate planning modules within ROS-based autonomy stacks.
- Test and validate planning algorithms through flight experiments.
📋 Requirements
- Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Robotics, CS, Aerospace, or EE.
- Strong programming skills in C++ and/or Python.
- Knowledge of robot motion planning concepts (graph search, sampling-based, trajectory optimization).
- Familiarity with robotics frameworks such as ROS.
✨ Nice to Have
- Experience with UAV platforms or aerial robotics.
- Familiarity with PX4 autopilot stack.
- Hands-on integration with real hardware systems.
🚩 Heads Up
- High number of responsibilities (7 listed) for an intern role.
- Mentions 'Attributes aligned with Core Values' with vague expectations.
