💼 About This Role

You'll work on real audio data for a large-scale multilingual speech-to-text project. You'll create verbatim transcriptions and English translations to support advanced language technology.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Produce verbatim transcripts from audio, including noises and cross talk
• Translate transcribed content into natural, fluent English
• Review and correct transcripts or translations for accuracy
• Optional: work across transcription and translation tasks

📋 Requirements

• Native-level proficiency in Chichewa or Nyanja
• Graduate qualification in translation, linguistics, or language studies
• Or 2 years of full-time professional translation experience with another graduate field
• Or 5 years of full-time professional translation experience

• Prior experience with spoken language transcription
• Background in African languages
• Familiarity with annotation guidelines
