Description

You will be responsible for the thermal design, analysis, testing, and validation of Rocket Lab's space vehicles. You'll perform thermal modeling, conduct trade studies, design and execute thermal tests, and validate models using test and flight data, working closely with design and test engineers to improve vehicle thermal performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering or other engineering degree
• 2+ years of thermal engineering experience (Engineer II) or 5+ years (Senior)
• Active Secret clearance with TS/SCI eligibility
• U.S. citizenship required
• Strong background in heat transfer and thermal systems preferred

Responsibilities

• Complete thermal modeling and analysis of vehicles
• Conduct thermal design trade studies balancing performance, resources, risk, cost, and schedule
• Identify and resolve thermal design, acceptance, and performance issues for space vehicle components and assemblies
• Design and execute thermal tests for space vehicle components and assemblies
• Perform thermal model validation using test and in-flight data
