Description

You will blend SQL development (80%) with core DBA responsibilities (20%) to deliver high-quality healthcare data solutions. Partnering with development and infrastructure teams, you will write and optimize SQL, manage on-prem and cloud SQL Server environments, and ensure platform reliability and performance.

Requirements

• 5+ years of SQL Server DBA experience in a production environment
• Strong experience with SQL Server installation, configuration, and maintenance; hands-on with Amazon RDS for SQL Server
• Advanced T-SQL skills including complex query optimization
• In-depth knowledge of indexing strategies, execution plans, performance tuning, backup/restore, HA/DR
• Proven ability to collaborate across Engineering, IT, and Product teams

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain on-prem SQL Server instances (2016+) and cloud SQL platforms (Amazon RDS, Azure Managed Instances, Google Cloud SQL)
• Troubleshoot performance issues using execution plans, Query Store, DMVs; resolve blocking, deadlocks, and query bottlenecks
• Design and maintain indexing and statistics strategies; write, review, and optimize stored procedures, functions, views, and inline SQL
• Apply least-privilege security models, manage access and permissions, support HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST compliance
• Configure monitoring and alerting; automate tasks using T-SQL or PowerShell; assist with capacity planning and lifecycle management
