💼 About This Role

You'll lead safety and quality strategies at Merlin, a startup building non-human pilots for reduced crew and uncrewed flight. You'll drive SMS/QMS integration and certification with agencies like FAA and EASA, enabling autonomy to solve aviation's biggest challenges.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Develop and execute short- and long-term safety and regulatory strategies.
• Lead integration and continuous improvement of SMS and QMS across the business.
• Collaborate with certification, compliance, and engineering teams on technology projects.
• Oversee program management for obtaining regulatory approvals from FAA, EASA, etc.

📋 Requirements

• 10+ years leading safety, regulatory, or compliance projects in technology or government.
• Proven ability to build relationships with senior leaders in government, industry, or academia.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to remain calm and decisive in high-pressure situations.

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with autonomous systems or aviation technology.
• Knowledge of FAA Part 23/25/33 certification processes.
• Background in startup environments.
