Description
You will provide technical leadership for structural integrity, strength, and life management of flight hardware for the Terran R launch vehicle. You will define and execute structural analysis strategies for static strength, fatigue, damage tolerance, fracture mechanics, and structural dynamics, guiding design verification and certification through flight operations.
Requirements
- Expertise in static strength, fatigue, damage tolerance, fracture mechanics, and structural dynamics
- Experience leading structural analysis for aerospace or similar high-reliability hardware
- Proficiency with finite element analysis and related analysis tools
- Strong understanding of structural design margins and certification processes
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence technical decisions
Responsibilities
- Lead structural analysis activities for major vehicle structures at component, subsystem, and vehicle levels
- Define structural analysis methodologies, requirements, and design margins for flight-critical hardware
- Guide development, verification, and certification of primary and secondary structures from early design through flight operations
- Collaborate with design, materials, manufacturing, and test teams to ensure robust designs meet performance, reliability, and reusability requirements
- Drive integration of fatigue, fracture, durability, and inspection considerations early in design
