Description

You will own the technical roadmap for Marqeta's core issuing and processing platform, lead high-impact initiatives, and partner with engineering leaders to drive engineering excellence. You'll spend significant time coding, designing scalable systems, and mentoring technical leads.

Requirements

• 12+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
• Experience developing and scaling microservices using modern cloud technologies, preferably AWS
• Experience working with high volume / low latency data infrastructures
• Solid understanding of security engineering best practices
• Experience with Java, Springboot, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, Kafka, JPOS, and AWS services

Responsibilities

• Own the technical roadmap and author system designs for card issuing and payment processing
• Write, review, and optimize code across the issuing and processing stack
• Identify and drive high-impact technical initiatives to improve performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency
• Collaborate with Product Managers to provide technical recommendations
• Mentor technical leads and drive organization-wide technical excellence
