Description

As a Staff Photonics Design and Layout Engineer, you will design, layout, and test innovative photonic devices, owning large-scale photonic layouts for high-volume products. You'll collaborate across disciplines to tapeout products and contribute to Process Design Kits (PDK) development, directly influencing the company's success in creating silicon photonics-based optical interconnect solutions for AI-ML products.

Requirements

• M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Physics or similar
• 8 years experience with Master's, PhD with 5 years, or equivalent
• In-depth knowledge of semiconductor device physics and photonic devices
• Experience with large-scale photonic layouts using industry standard tools
• Proficiency with photonic simulation tools (e.g., Ansys FDTD, Tidy3D) and scripting (e.g., Python)

Responsibilities

• Design, layout, and test innovative photonic devices
• Own and contribute to large-scale photonic layouts for high-volume products
• Collaborate across analog, digital, and physical design teams for tapeout
• Work with product, sales, and architecture teams on device characterization and validation
• Contribute to Process Design Kits (PDK) development
