Description

As the Lead Composites Manufacturing Engineer at Rocket Lab's Space Structures Complex in Middle River, MD, you will oversee the development and continuous improvement of composite manufacturing processes for the Neutron launch vehicle. You will coordinate a team to ensure quality product and robust process design, lead root-cause analysis, and manage capital projects to scale production.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, aerospace, manufacturing, or similar)
• 5+ years composite manufacturing experience (carbon fiber preferred)
• Experience in leadership capacity (personnel or technical)

Responsibilities

• Oversee introduction and implementation of new products and product revisions for Neutron composite structure
• Ensure robust process design including bonding, alignment, lamination for primary structure production
• Consult with design engineers on design for manufacturability
• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective action programs
• Manage capital projects to introduce new production techniques
